Great veal pelmeni dumplings with soy sauce and dumplings, coffee and cottage cheese cookies with good music on a rainy day. What more can one ask for?
Fantastic place, friendly owner and staff, and an interesting fusion: Russian, Uzbek, Korean. One of my favorite restaurants in Jersey City. Here's the meal that got me hooked (shared by two people): First, lemon ginger honey tea, with grated ginger and lemon zest. Then red borscht with sour cream, and a lamb-mint samosa. A main course of lamb pilaf. Dessert: almond cookies, a taste of chak-chak, and of course their famous cottage cheese cookies. Fantastic.
Best expresso coffee drinks for miles! Cottage cheese cookie is amazing come by or call at opening and get a warm batch. Sea Salt cookies great with a cortado coffee. My favoriate for lunch is the vegan pilaf with russian style boiled pierogies.
Wana do something good to your body, your soul.... It's a very good place for an efficient break! And the coffee ain't water, it's a real coffee!
I love this place! Authentic Uzbeki (sp?) food, very delicious and excellent. The pierogies are outstanding!
Best cottage cheese cookies ever !!!
The best find in Jersey City. Cottage cheese cookies and lagman soupn all day everyday
Great gem in the middle of McGinley square! Hard working owners who put their heart and soul into everything! Get the Russian style dumplings and you'll leave happy and satisfied!
Such a great place!!! Great people, great coffee and non-alcoholic beverages and delicious food!!! The pilmeni (sp?) are the best!! Oh! And the cottage cheese cookies are to die for.
My family and I have been going to Honey Bakery since they first opened. The owner, Arseni, is extremely meticulous about the ingredients he uses and is always interested in his customers' response to the food. For those of us with a sweet tooth, his cottage cheese cookies are exquisite, and 5 are extremely filling. Shak-shak is highly addictive, so be careful. One piece is never enough. For those who love dumplings, his chicken dumplings will keep you asking for more. Even 25 dumplings will not satisfy your craving for them. The black currant tea (hot) is absolutely delicious. Drink it slowly to enjoy the different flavors he has infused into it. The cold soup with buckwheat noodles is a vegeterian's dream. Arseni and his family have made a commitment to this neighborhood I really appreciate them sharing their culture with us.
No on site service... We had been there a while back.
best brownies ever... choctastic. and they put coffee icecubes in your iced coffee, any more words to say?
Great food, just like babushka’s cooking!
A nice addition to the McGinley Square neighborhood in Jersey City. The menu is limited but the items on their are good choices. My two favorite items are the salmon and the lamb and rice. I also love their cottage cookies. The owner is a friendly humble guy. Their is a small seating area, so it is best to probably take it to go. But if you do eat in I believe it is a BYOB.
Love it! Great food & service. We're regulars. Recommend the lamb pilaf & Siberian dumplings. Fantastic!
Very nice cozy place. Staff is nice. They have the best kimchi in jersey 😀
The vegan pilaf, borsch beet soup and the roasted lamb kasha were so delicious. My husband and I enjoyed devouring all of them😋. Even the hot berry drinks like black currant and sea bucklethorn were very good. And Arsemi was helpful and kind to cook and serve the dishes with zest. Honey Bakery is the place to go for tasty Russian/Uzbek meals.
Awesome eclectic place! Lost of choices for unique dishes. Nothing like it in this neighborhood.
Excellent baked treats, teas and menu items. Great owners.
Uzbek/Korean/Russian bakery and restaurant. Everything I've had here is delicious. I've eaten a few meals, and they're all tasty. The baked goods are also amazing, including sweets and bread.
Delicious baked sweets. I get my rye bread here. Hearty, delicious plates too.
Absolutely amazing place! Highly recommended if you’re looking for simple healthy food. Feels like home
The food is absolutely top notch, the staff is amazing. If I lived in Jersey City I'd going there almost every day.
Just had beets soup it was delicious also the owner just baked some amazing cookies to die for love this spot will highly recommend 👍
Great food and service. Definitely worth a trip!
Food gem near Journal Square. I discovered them at the farmers market in Journal Square, but they use to be in the grove street market too. You can also go to they tiny shop near the Lincoln Park. They have a couple of tables in the street. In the menu you will find some uzbek cuisine like rice pilaf, samosas, etc. I use to eat they lamb rice pilaf and the lamb samosas... but all that I tried was really good. Also they make great bread, like in Europe! If you are in this area, I highly recommend to try to find them!
Good food and friendly staff. Seating is limited but we like to sit outside on a nice day. If you are unsure what to have, try the pierogi!
Cottage cheese cookies. I've bought them by 3's, 12's and a box of 50. It's made me and everyone who ever had them happy. Also the lamb pilaf is good. Outside of that, I still to cookies.
Comfortable place. Good food and price. Thank you.
Delicious soups!
Amazing food. So happy to live near such a gem of a place. This is where I'll be bringing all my out of town friends when they visit
Nice, family-owned place offering a mixture of cuisines (Russian and Uzbeck), great candies and good coffee! I especially recommend their black currant pie. This is REALLY something. You will not regret this experience.
Frequent this place. Consistently good, unique Uzbek- Korean food. Good service
This was an amazing experience, and if I lived closer, I would probably be a regular here! The meals here are tasty and you leave with a satisfied, yet light feel..not like your typical restaurants. The staff is very caring, and you could tell they prepare the food with love. And please save space for dessert!!!! Be it the cottage cheese cookies, or the "chak chaks" with some coffe...you won't be disappointed!!!
I had the pilaf (plov), and it's just like my ex used to make. They even had a vegan version with twice the fruit. It was so good, I took to pints home with me and a giant loaf of sourdough.
Delightful cuisine, thoughtful and friendly staff that you can connect with. The team at Honey Bakery take pride in their dishes and they do not disappoint.
Great Uzkek Korean food
Excellent food, the spicy lamb sandwich was delicious. I wish I had two stomaches so that i could try other things on the menu!
I have yet to find myself feeling unwelcomed or unsatisfied with their service...i am lucky to have them near me....and even if i moved i will travel miles to enjoy being apart of the honeybakery vibe...
great pillaf and sweets! It's nice to have such exotic cuisine in town!
The bread is very good. Pastries were outstanding. Nice and friendly owner.
Very delicious lagman and friendly atmosphere!
Good and service are really good!!
This is my favorite place to eat in McGinley Square, I am a regular here. I love the owner and the staff. Their food is excellent healthy and fresh. I go wanting to spend $10 and i always leave spending $30.
The food here is great. Love the Russian cuisine made with Korean influence.
European Asian fusion food, plus some of the best cookies baked daily
Everytime i visit new york i stop by this place to eat. Excellent food
Friendly place with great food and baked goods. We love Honey Bakery!
Cozy place, great home-style food (I ordered shurpa Uzbek soup, tasty Russian tea with custom marshmallows & cakes), hearty owner. The only downside: far from JSQ. Great for a date, fast delivery!
Amazing food! Great ppl. Wish it was in New York I would go every day!!!
